The Drift Ice Walk season has now officially come to an end.
The LANTOKO team would like to sincerely thank all of our guests for their enthusiastic participation!

This season started successfully on February 1, and due to snow accumulation and changing ice conditions toward the end of the season, we concluded our operations on March 14.
Although the originally planned operating period was February 1 – March 20, including cancellations caused by blizzards and other weather conditions, the total number of canceled days this season was 12.5 days.

Statistics from previous years regarding tour operations and cancellations are also available in the FAQ section on our official website, which we hope will help you when planning your future trips.

The LANTOKO team looks forward to the opportunity to welcome and guide you again in the future. Please come visit us in Shiretoko next year!
And of course, guests who have already experienced the Drift Ice Walk are more than welcome to join again. Each year—and even each day—the drift ice conditions are different, creating unique experiences every time. We hope you will discover new and exciting ways to enjoy the drift ice.

The 2027 LANTOKO Drift Ice Walk season is scheduled to run from February 1 to March 15, 2027.
Reservations will open on November 15, 2026 at 12:00 PM (Japan Time).

(Since drift ice conditions near the end of the season have been unstable in recent years, reservations for March 15–20 will be decided based on that year’s ice conditions and are expected to open in early March of the same year.)

When reservations open, please visit the Drift Ice Walk website and click the fox icon in the bottom-right corner to fill out the reservation request form.
Two days before reservations open, we will also post the required information for the reservation form in the “Latest News” section of our website, so please check the updates and prepare the necessary details in advance.
